Rooftop Bar Now Open with Panoramic Views of Hyannis Harbor

We're excited to announce that our highly anticipated rooftop bar is now officially open! Offering stunning panoramic views of Hyannis Harbor, our new elevated space provides the perfect setting for enjoying craft cocktails, small plates, and Cape Cod's famous sunsets.

After months of careful planning and construction, we've transformed our previously unused rooftop into what we believe is now one of the most beautiful outdoor spaces in Hyannis. With capacity for 75 guests, comfortable seating, and a dedicated bar, our rooftop offers a unique perspective on Hyannis Harbor and the surrounding area.

A Vision Realized

The idea for a rooftop bar has been part of our long-term vision for Portside Tavern since we first acquired this historic sea captain's house. We always knew the potential was there, but it took careful planning to ensure we could create a space that honored the building's history while providing a modern, comfortable experience.

Our design team worked with local architects to create a space that feels both luxurious and welcoming. We've used natural materials like teak wood, wrought iron, and nautical-inspired elements that pay homage to Hyannis's maritime heritage while providing all the comforts of a modern cocktail bar.

The Rooftop Experience

The rooftop bar features its own dedicated menu of craft cocktails, wines by the glass, and small plates designed specifically for sharing in a social setting. Our beverage team has created a special cocktail menu that highlights seasonal ingredients and local flavors.

Signature Rooftop Cocktails

Our rooftop cocktail menu features several exclusive creations you won't find anywhere else in the restaurant:

• Harbor Breeze - Cape Cod cranberry vodka, fresh grapefruit juice, lime, and a hint of rosemary
• Sunset Spritz - Aperol, prosecco, soda, and orange essence
• Captain's Old Fashioned - Our take on the classic, using local maple syrup and orange bitters
• Sea Salt Margarita - Tequila, fresh lime, orange liqueur, with a sea salt rim

Small Plates Menu

Our executive chef has developed a special small plates menu perfect for sharing while enjoying the views:

• Lobster Tacos - Fresh lobster, avocado crema, mango salsa in crispy shells
• Tuna Poke Bowls - Ahi tuna, sesame soy dressing, crispy wontons
• Artisanal Cheese Board - Local cheeses, honey, nuts, and fresh bread
• Crispy Calamari - With lemon aioli and marinara dipping sauces

Sunset Views and Ambiance

One of the highlights of our rooftop bar is undoubtedly the spectacular sunset views over Hyannis Harbor. We've oriented the seating to maximize these views, and we've installed subtle lighting that enhances rather than detracts from the natural beauty of the surroundings.

As evening falls, the space transforms with soft lighting and heating elements that allow for comfortable enjoyment even as the temperature drops. We've also installed retractable awnings to provide shade during the day and protection from unexpected weather.

Reservations and Hours

The rooftop bar is open daily from 4 PM until closing, weather permitting. While walk-ins are welcome, we highly recommend making reservations, especially for weekend evenings and sunset times when demand is highest.

Please note that the rooftop bar is for guests 21 and over after 8 PM. We also have a limited number of semi-private areas that can be reserved for special occasions or small gatherings.

Special Events

In addition to regular service, we plan to host special events on the rooftop throughout the season. These will include:

• Sunset cocktail hours with live acoustic music
• Weekend brunch service (coming in June)
• Special tasting events with local distilleries and breweries
• Private event bookings for celebrations
